(0 votes)Today I noticed two drug related instances in PS. First was the usual two guys smoking out of a glass pipe in Occidental park which is nothing new. Called 911 but got the usual reply. The other was a younger thug walking around trying to make quick sales. I was busy and could not call 911. We will lose this neighborhood to the drug addicts unless we do something about it. I thought possibly Twitter would be a good idea between merchants and local residences that care. Quickly twitting a description of the crime, location and physical description we could be aware of the individuals and...

Important Pioneer Square Community Meeting
(tomorrow)
6:00 - 7:30 p.m....

(0 votes)As many of you know, there have been a rash of car break-ins at the CPS garage on 1st and Columbia. I just came home at 1 a.m. and found the stairwell exit propped open. I am asking if the neighborhood could help us keep an eye on the garage, make sure that all doors are closed, and call 911 if you see or hear any suspicious activity. The police are supposed to start patrolling the garage at night, but any community support would be greatly appreciated!

When Luigi DeNunzio looks out at the street from his restaurant's 100-year-old windows, he sees nothing but brick, Romanesque beauty.
"It is the most gorgeous part of town," he says. "They won't let you make it like...

(0 votes)I just noticed the two new security cameras on either end of Occidental between Yesler and the pedestrian park. I saw them because they were big and bulky and had a bunch of wires sticking out. Kind of an eyesore actually (but not as much as the unshowered vagrants standing underneath them)...

(0 votes)I am curious to receive feedback regarding doing a Sunday market in Pioneer Square similar to the one that is in Ballard. I clearly can see the challenges. However, we certainly have the perfect setting for it. The occidental park would be ideal. Perhaps from late April - August when the weather is warmer. This would be very enjoyable for the local community and our tourists. Also helpful to the local business owners as it would bring people to the square. Any thoughts and how we can proceed?

(0 votes)I just wanted to announce that Pioneer Square Video will be moving three blocks north to the Coleman building (right between Fado and the Contour). We plan on closing for one day on Thursday April 2nd and we will be back open for business in the new location Friday April 3rd. All rentals will be extended for one day during the down time.
We will be changing the name from Pioneer Square Video to just Pioneer Video, due to the fact that we will be a block or so outside the square. We hope to keep everyone as we will only...

(0 votes)I was walking by Cafe Paloma and noticed a poster in their window about this. 3 courses for $20. There are a handful of restaurants participating aside from Paloma; Mitchellis, The New Orleans, and more...
Does anyone know any other details about this?
The poster was a little vague. I think it mentioned it was a special for the last week of every month. I tried to google it, but didn't find any info on it. Anyhow, it's a great deal!

(1 votes)We're all fed up with the increasing crime in Pioneer Square, and each one of us needs to do what we can to stop it.
The Seattle Police Department has a non-emergency number: (206) 625-5011. Program it into your cell phone and any time you see anything concerning: drug activity, public drinking or urinating, excessive noise after 10 p.m., suspicious or harassing behavior, graffiti, etc., call it. You won't get an immediate response, but each call gets logged and there's no better documentation for allocating police resources. And of course, call 911 for any crime in progress.
